Obituary for Tomas Bustos Gutierrez

Tomas Bustos Gutierrez, 85, of El Dorado Hills, CA, passed peacefully at his home on his favorite day of the week, Sunday, December 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pampanga Philippines on June 20, 1932, Tomas was the son of the late Esteban and Anastasia (Bustos) Gutierrez.

Though he achieved and took great pride in the many accomplishments throughout his life, it was those of his children and grandchildren, which he was most proud. Tomas instilled in each of them, many strong core values, but none more important than that of the Chivalrous manner in which he demonstrated his Love and Devotion for his bride of 50 years, Sonia, each and every day, whether it was his dry sense of humor, his soft-spoken manner, the twinkle in his eye when he smiled at her, their walking hand-in-hand or the extension of his own, to help her in or out of the car, as well as up and down the stairs, A TRUE GENTLEMAN!.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Tomas will be deeply missed by his wife, Sonia (Pengson) Gutierrez, his brother, Ignacio Gutierrez of Quezon City, Philippines, his Nine Children, Mary Ann Engalla and her husband Rhoniel of Brampton, Canada, Leslie M. Gutierrez and his partner Darren M. Messina of Folsom, California, Rico Gutierrez and his wife Claire of Brampton, Canada, Jennifer Olaivar of Brampton, Canada, Ma. Trinidad Ballesteros and her husband Dan of Roseville, California, Emmanuel Steve Gutierrez and his wife Therese Angela of Paranaque, Philippines, Tomas P. Gutierrez, Jr. and his wife Chanthy of Cary, North Carolina, his Fourteen Grandchildren, Terian Engalla, Kyle Stephen, Kassandra Marie & Keeyan Thomas Zenarosa, Mark, Lauren & Sean Larracas, Ryan, Caelen & Caitlin Gutierrez, David Matthew & Isabella Ballesteros, Christtenn Therese & Juacky Gutierrez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Tomas was predeceased by his siblings, Corina, Eusebio & Francisco Gutierrez, as well as his son-in-laws, Craig M. Coy and Edmundo ‘Junior’ Olaivar.
